Our community
As we’ve grown, we’ve seen what it means to be part of a global community. We partner with international organizations like the World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF) to keep our marketplace free of illegal merchandise, we belong to TechNet and the Internet Association to foster innovation and empower people through the open internet, and we work with law enforcement agencies to keep our community safe.
Still, we know that the most important part of our community is its members - and hey, that’s you! (Go you.) So whether you’re curious about what you can buy and sell on letgo or what type of conduct we prohibit on our app, use these guidelines to help us keep our community safe, welcoming, and inclusive.

Great deals require trust. Act with integrity.
letgo makes it easier than ever to find great deals in your neighborhood, but we can’t do it alone. Every deal requires trust. Accurately and fairly represent yourself and the items you’re buying or selling on letgo. Attempts to deceive or defraud users are not tolerated.
Prohibited conduct:
- Attempts to lure users off of letgo to other services are prohibited
- Negotiate prices in good faith, and don’t list items at a price at which you don’t intend to sell
- You may not circumvent our anti-spam and anti-fraud efforts (this includes multiple postings of the same item)
- All items for sale should include photos that are clear, well-lit, and accurately represent what you’re selling
letgo is more than an app, it’s a community.
We built a community around letting go of old stuff, but we think it’s important to hang onto the values you learned as a kid. We’re talking about the basics: treat others as you’d like to be treated and do what you say you will. Remember, most of the people you talk to on letgo are your neighbors.
Prohibited conduct:
- Messages that are intended to harass, intimidate, threaten, or demean another user
- Items that promote or support hate groups
- Items that depict or glorify violence
- Racial slurs
If it’s not yours to sell, it’s not for us.
You must rightfully own anything you intend to sell on letgo. We have a zero tolerance policy for stolen goods. Remember, violating someone else’s intellectual property is a form of theft. This means counterfeit goods or replicas that are being sold without permission from the rightful owner aren’t allowed.
Prohibited items include:
- Counterfeit goods
- Replicas that are sold without consent from the trademark owner
- Stocks and other securities, as well as other non-transferable items
- Stolen goods
- Hacking tools
- Vehicles where you are not the titleholder

- Repeated listings of the same item
- Mass messages sent without the intent of buying or selling items on letgo
